I bought these Sculpt dumbbells for light toning. The silicone coating is soft and pleasant to touch, providing a good grip even when hands sweat. However, at 2.2 lb each, they are extremely light—I can't get a real workout for my arms without many reps. They're better for stretching or core moves. The price is high for the weight.
